HISTORY:
Immanuel Lutheran Church opened the doors to its elementary school as a mission outreach to children of the congregation as well as to children in the community in September, 1980 with 72 students in grades 1 through 7. Today, there are approximately 150 students enrolled in an education program that provides Christ-centered instruction in the Lutheran tradition for children from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
OUR FOCUS:
Each child is an individual creation of God with unique talents and abilities. We teach God's Word, nurture students in their faith in Jesus Christ, instill Christian values, build and experience Christian community, and provide opportunities for worship and sharing the faith. Our teaching of God's Word does not end with the religion period, but all of our activities attempt to show God as the Creator of the world, Jesus as the Savior of mankind, and the Holy Spirit as the producer of a climate of trust, respect, cooperation, concern, and love among teachers, parents, and children.
CURRICULUM:
The curriculum and course of study at Immanuel Lutheran School meet the requirements of the State of Florida and the Curriculum for Lutheran Schools as directed by the Immanuel Lutheran School Board. Immanuel Lutheran School uses state- adopted textbooks. In addition to the traditional subjects, we offer Religion, Computer, Music, Chorus, Band, Physical Education, and Art classes. Honors Algebra and Honors Physical Science are offered in 8th grade for high school credit.
